Electrochemical Polymerization of Ruthenium(II) Complex and Application to Acetaminophen Analysis

Abstract: A novel ruthenium(II) complex, [RuC1 2 (DMSO) 2 (PhenTPy)] has been synthesized by the condensation of RuCl 2 (DMSO) 4 with (1-(1,10-phenanthrolinyl)-2,5-di(2-thienyl)-1H-pyrrole) [PhenTPy] in CHCl 3 solution. The [RuC1 2 (DMSO) 2 (PhenTPy)] complex modified electrode was fabricated through the electropolymerization of the monomer in a 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium perchlorate (TBAP)/CH 2 Cl 2 solution, to take advantage of the electronic communication between metal ion center by the conjugated backbone. The UV-vi… Show more

“…Compared with nanoparticles modified electrode, electroactive polymer modified electrodes are relative simple and easy to fabricate (Kannan et al, 2011;Atta and El-Kady, 2009;Huang et al, 1998). Kannan et al electropolymerized a ruthenium complex on the electrode in nonaqeous solution (Kannan et al, 2011).…”
