Electrochemical Impedance Measurement of Type 304 Stainless Steel under SSRT Conditions

Abstract: SCC susceptibility of Type 304 stainless steel depends on NaCl concentration in aqueous solution composed of H 2 SO 4 and NaCl. Immersion potential and electrode impedance were measured during SSRT(Slow Strain Rate Tensile) test in two kinds of solutions; i.e., one is 2.5 kmol・m -3 H 2 SO 4 +0.2 kmol・m -3 NaCl solution in which SCC occurs and the other is 2.5 kmol・m -3 H 2 SO 4 +3.0 kmol・m -3 NaCl solution in which SCC does not occur.
