Elastic Properties of Substitutional Solid Solutions InxTl1-xI and Sound Wave Velocities in Them

Abstract: Elastic properties of substitutional solid solutions In Tl1− I have been studied. The corresponding Young modulus, shear modulus, and compression modulus are calculated theoretically. The dependence of the elastic properties of the In Tl1− I solid solution on the content within the interval 0.375 ≤ ≤ 1 is analyzed. The velocity of sound propagation in examined specimens is studied experimentally. The obtained data are used to calculate the elastic coefficient 22 for In Tl1− I. The theoretical results are found… Show more

“…Furthermore, these properties play an important role in providing valuable information on structural stability, anisotropic factors, Debye temperature, phonon spectra and specific heat. All this information is usually defined by the elastic constants C i j [58,59]. The calculation method used allows the calculation of the total energy E for arbitrary crystal structures.…”

“…В настоящей работе для согласования абсолютных значений E g проведена коррекция расчетной величины на значение E = 0.73 eV. Но это не влияет на общую тенденцию электронных и структурных свойств, что подтверждено рядом предыдущих электронных расчетов [19][20][21]. поглощения прямыми межзонными оптическими переходами.…”
