The interaction effects of different fertilisation regimes and weather variability on crop yield is a challenge that requires long-term investigation. Therefore, yield data for spring barley (SB) in an agricultural long-term field experiment, established in 1963 in Müncheberg, northeast Germany, were analysed to reveal the effects of 21 fertiliser regimes and different weather conditions on SB yields. SB yields were significantly affected by fertilisation regimes (11%), annual weather conditions (55%) and their interaction effect (8%). Mineral N fertilization decreased overall yield variability across seasons as compared to no fertilization and organic fertilization regimes showed higher yield variability. A suitable combined application of mineral nitrogen and organic fertiliser was found to be an effective way to produce higher SB yields than the application of either mineral nitrogen or organic fertiliser alone. A Bayesian linear regression model showed total precipitation during the growing season (April-July) positively affected on SB yields when high mineral N was supplied. At the early growth stage, a precipitation rate (March) and temperature (April or sowing day) negatively affected on SB yield.

ZusammenfassungUm die Beziehungen zwischen differenzierter organisch-mineralischer Dü ngung, der Ertragsbildung und der Backqualität von Winterweizen näher aufzuklären, wurden mehrjährige Untersuchungen im Internationalen Organischen Stickstoff-Dauerdü ngungsversuch (IOSDV) am Standort Berlin-Dahlem durchgefü hrt. Es zeigte sich, dass die Ertrags-und Qualitätsbildung neben der Dü ngung stark von der Jahreswitterung beeinflusst wird. Dies beruht auf den Bodenverhältnissen am Versuchsstandort. Trockenperioden während der Ä hrenbildungs-und Blü tenbildungsphase, die insbesondere durch Wasserdefizite verursacht wurden, fü hrten bei den Ertragskomponenten zu starken Reduktionen. Mit 110 bzw. 160 kg ha 7 1 mineralischer N-Dü ngung wurde das Ertragsoptimum auf dem Sandboden am Standort Berlin-Dahlem erreicht. Die hö chsten N-Stufen besonders im Dü ngungssystem ''Stroh-, Grü n-, Rü benblattdü ngung'' waren nicht mehr effektiv, oder es traten bereits Ertragsdepressionen auf. Die organische Dü ngung in Form von ''Stallmistdü ngung'' und ''Stroh-, Grü n-, Rü benblattdü ngung'' fü hrte beim Winterweizen zu signifikanten Mehrerträgen, wobei die grö ßten Unterschiede bei Verzicht auf Mineral-N-Dü ngung auftraten. Die Backqualität der B-Weizensorte Flair war primär von der mineralischen N-Dü ngung abhängig. Die erforderlichen Werte fü r Weichweizen wurden ü berwiegend erst mit 110 bzw. 160 kg ha 7 1 Mineral-N-Dü ngung erreicht. Mit organischer Dü ngung und vor allem durch die Stallmistdü ngung wurde die Backqualität des Weizens sowohl in den Varianten ohne Mineral-N als auch in Kombination mit der mineralischen N-Dü ngung verbessert. AbstractIn the ''International Long-term Organic Nitrogen Fertilization Experiment'' (IOSDV) the organic and mineral fertilization showed a distinct influence on yield formation and quality parameters of winter wheat, though modified by annual weather conditions. Grain yield was affected by annual weather conditions in the first place, followed by mineral N-fertilization and organic fertilization respectively. This result was due to soil conditions at the experimental site. Dry periods during the stages of spikelet formation and flowering formation, which were caused by water deficiency, reduced the yield components strongly. The yield optimum was reached at the level of 110 and 160 kg ha 7 1 mineral N on the sandy soil at the location of Berlin-Dahlem. The highest nitrogen level caused non effective or slight yield depressions, especially in the ''green, straw and sugar beet leaf manure'' fertilization system. Organic N-fertilization (farm yard manure, straw, green manure and beet leaf fertilization) led to significant increases of winter wheat yield in the course of which biggest differences were observed when combined mineral N-fertilization was missing. The bread-making quality of B-wheat variety Flair was primarily dependent on mineral N-fertilization.
