Show more

“…Kappes et al (2009), observed a significant increase in corn productivity with application of 70 kg ha-1 of N, regardless of the source used. Rodrigues et al (2018) found that the application of urea is beneficial for the cultivation of corn even in years of favorable climatic conditions, obtaining gains of 31% in grain productivity in the treatment with urease inhibiting urea, Super N. As well as the climatic conditions , previously mentioned, favored the development of corn in the present experiment. It is also noticeable the high productivity of the control, it should be noted that 40 kg ha-1 of N was applied in the sowing despite not having been covered, and its production is within the average values with application of nitrogen in coverage (RESENDE et al, 2018).…”

“…The provision of N on side-dress with urea or UREMAX increased the levels of chlorophyll. Rodrigues et al (2018) also verified differences in treatments with or without urea, confirming the precept that N application on side-dress is essential, regardless of the source. Still, according to the authors, despite the higher values with urease inhibitor application, there were no significant differences, a result that is different of what was found in this study, in which the chlorophyll levels showed a higher value with UREMAX application.…”

“…Kappes et al (2009) observed significant increases in grain yield with the application of 70 kg ha -1 of N, regardless of the source used. Rodrigues et al (2018) verified that urea supply is beneficial to the maize even in years of favorable climatic conditions, obtaining gains of 31 % on the yield on the treatment with urea and urease inhibitor, Super N®. As well as the climatic conditions mentioned before favored the maize development in this study, it is also clear the high yield of the witness treatment, for which it should be noted that 40 kg ha -1 of N was applied at sowing, but no side-dress fertilization was carried out, still its yield is in the same average values of the ones with N application on sidedress (RESENDE et al, 2018).…”

“…The importance of nitrogen to maize is due to its participation in the composition of related amino acids, protein, chlorophyll and many essential enzymes that stimulate the growth and development of the aerial part and its root system (Malavolta, 2006). According to Rodrigues et al (2018), nitrogen is a nutrient that acts in the vegetative development, directly influencing the cell division and expansion and the photosynthetic process of the plant.…”
