Efficacy of homeopathic intervention in subclinical hypothyroidism with or without autoimmune thyroiditis in children: an exploratory randomized control study

Abstract: A statistically significant decline in serum TSH values and antiTPOab titers indicates that the homeopathic intervention has not only the potential to treat SCH with or without antiTPOab but may also prevent progression to OH.

“…In this study, we have only used constitutional homeopathic medicine in the treatment of the cases. Previously, few studies were conducted in hypothyroidism titled "Efficacy of homeopathic intervention in subclinical hypothyroidism with or without autoimmune thyroiditis in children: An exploratory randomized control study" [9] and "An openlabel randomized pragmatic exploratory pilot trial to compare the effectiveness of Echinacea Angustifolia 200 cH against individualized homeopathic medicines in hypothyroidism" [10]. We did not find any case series regarding treatment with constitutional homoeopathic medicine.…”

“…The possible causal attribution of the treatment outcome was assessed using 'Modified Naranjo Criteria' as proposed by the HPUS clinical data working group 13,14 (►Table 4). The score obtained (8) reflects that there is probability that the improvement in the patient can be attributed to the homoeopathic medicine administered.…”

“…According to a clinical study by Prajakta Ghare et al, Homoeopathic medicine Thyroidinum has potential to treat subclinical hypothyroidism and may prevent patients from progressing to overt hypothyroidism [3] . An exploratory randomized control study in Homeopathy by Chauhan VK et al, shows a statistically significant decline in serum TSH values and Anti-TPO after Homoeopathic intervention which indicates that the homeopathic medicine has not only potential to treat subclinical hypothyroidism and but may also prevent progression to overt hypothyroidism [4] .…”
