“…This study revealed that the duration of the first stage, second stage, and total labor duration were shorter in the experimental groups compared to the control group. Other studies have found that birth ball exercises shortened the duration of labor (Dhekra et al, 2020; Emam & Al‐Zahrani, 2018; Farrag & Omar, 2018; Gau et al, 2011; Moraloglu et al, 2017; Mutoharoh et al, 2020; Shedmake & Wakode, 2021; Tussey et al, 2015; Vaijayanthimala & Judie, 2014; Zaky, 2016). In this study, it was determined that labor induction was used in most of the pregnant women in all groups.…”

“…The result of the randomized controlled trial performed by Henrique et al (2018) on labor pain, indicated that the pain scores were lower in the birth ball exercises application group along with the hydrotherapy; thus, birth ball exercises application, and combined groups, is similar to the result of the present study. The systematic reviews, meta‐analysis studies and some studies on using a birth ball during labor determined that the birth ball reduced labor pain (Aktaş et al, 2021; Apriani et al, 2019; Delgado et al, 2019; Emam & Al‐Zahrani, 2018; Farrag & Omar, 2018; Gallo et al, 2014; Grenvik et al, 2021; Hidayati & RunjatiSantoso, 2017; Leung et al, 2013; Makvandi et al, 2015; Sari, 2019; Shedmake & Wakode, 2021; Shirazi et al, 2019; Taavoni et al, 2016; Ulfa, 2021; Vaijayanthimala & Judie, 2014). Studies in the literature support the findings of this study.…”

“…This study recommends the use of birthing ball exercise for labor pain management in the delivery room. In this study, birthing ball exercise was carried out 3 times during the first stage of the active phase with a duration of 30 minutes for each intervention (Vaijayanthimala and Judie, 2014).…”
