Effects on Blood Pressure Decrease in Response to PAF of Impatiens textori MIQ.

Abstract: A 35% EtOH extract of flowers of Impatiens textori MIQ. showed an inhibitory effect on blood pressure decrease in response to platelet activating factor (PAF) measured with a blood pressure monitoring system. Bioassay-guided fractionation of the 35% EtOH extract (IT) led to isolation of the flavones apigenin (1) and luteolin (3), which significantly inhibited blood pressure decrease in response to PAF. Their compounds and apigenin 7-glucoside (2), chrysoeriol (4), quercetin (5), quercetin 3-glucoside (6), kaem… Show more

“…5,6) We also developed a more rapid assay systems using the blood pressure monitoring system. [7][8][9] Herein, we report that the blood flow of vein microcirculation is markedly decrease by HEL-sensitization alone without the HEL-challenge. There has been no report of the blood flow of vein microcirculation being involved in an initial stage of the immune reaction.…”

“…We previously reported the inhibitory effects of IT on established allergy such as antianaphylactic, antipruritic, and anti-PAF activity. 2,3) Thus this flower could be useful during the preventive and therapeutic stages of allergy.…”
