Effects of Various Types of Bridge Exercise on the Walking Ability of Stroke Patients

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of various bridge exercises on walking ability. Method: The subjects were 30 stroke patients. They were divided into a bridge exercise group on a stable support surface (Group I), a bridge exercise group on an unstable support surface (Group II), and a bridge exercise group combined with whole body vibrations (Group III). 10 subjects were randomly assigned into each group. The subjects of this study had 30 minutes of nervous system physical therapy including g… Show more

“…Another purpose of Core stability exercise is to improve balance, reduce the risk of falling, and stabilize when walking (Song & Heo, 2015). This exercise is performed with the patient sleeping on his back on the bed, then the patient is instructed to 600 hip flexion, 900 knee flexion between the two opened with a distance like shoulder width, this exercise is performed within 30 minutes, maintained 0-15 seconds and rest for 10 seconds 10x repetitions done in 3 sets with a break between sets of 60 seconds (Ynag & Uhm, 2020). Providing Exercise therapy in reducing spasticity, adding LGS and strengthening muscles The exercise therapy provided includes strengthening: to strengthen muscle strength.…”

“…In post-stroke patients, it is necessary to be trained to bring up new stimuli and circuits (sensomotor) so as to replace the function of the damaged circuit [7], [8]. Sensomotor disorders can result in weakness to paralysis of the limbs, muscle tone abnormalities and sensory disturbances, and balance disorders including muscle weakness, decreased soft tissue flexibility and sensory motor control [9], [10]. Loss of function due to impaired motor control in stroke patients can cause loss of coordination, balance and mobility, which will interfere with daily activities and cause dependence on others [11].…”
