Effects of Tourmaline Concentration on Natural Rubber Foam

Abstract: Natural rubber foam/tourmaline composite was prepared from natural rubber latex and vulcanized by sulfur curing system. Tourmaline powder was dispersed in potassium oleate before foaming production. The batch foaming production was used in this research. In order to investigate the effects of tourmaline concentration in natural rubber foam, mechanical properties, microstructure, and thermal skin temperature analysis were performed. Increasing of tourmaline concentration affected on high density and small micro… Show more

“…Their results confirmed that the SIS/THFMA scaffolds are able to hold adhesion and growth of neuron-like cells and chondrocytes for more than 4–5 days. Chayaphan and coworkers designed NR composite foams using tourmaline powder as filler to improve the far infrared (FIR) emission to improve blood circulation [ 6 ]. The skin temperature increased by 1.6 °C with 300 ppm tourmaline which was the highest average skin temperature increased, while 1.5 °C, 1.1 °C and 0.6 °C were observed with 500 ppm, 100 ppm and without tourmaline, respectively.…”
