“…Despite the variety of the intensity of pilates and other programs, in the current study, we observed the effect of pilates program on BMI and fasting blood glucose level. On the contrary, Ferreira et al (2009) stated that the impact of a Pilates exercise program might not cause any statistically significant change on total body mass for sedentary women [25]. Pan et al (1997) showed that only diet, only exercise, and diet plus exercise interventions led to similar changes in BMI and fasting blood glucose level in the long term follow up [26].…”

“…The existing studies which show the effect of core stabilization exercises on body compositions give quite different results from each other and it is considered that this difference is due to the study groups. While studies on sedentary individuals show that in general positive effects have been achieved on body composition [16][17][18][19], this effect has not been shown in some other studies [20,21], however a change is mostly not seen in studies with athletes [22]. For example, a Pilates training program that consisted of 7 exercises of 2 to 3 sets with 15 to 20 repetitions each with a 45-sec rest interval twice a week for 6 weeks (in addition to basketball team training), was not sufficient to change body composition in young basketball athletes [23].…”

“…Many studies (Vergili, 2012;Pinar, 2014;Colakoglu, 2008;Nindl, 2017;Kieres and Plowman, 1989;Mosher et al, 1998;Rogers and Gibson, 2009;Mehdizadeh, 2015;Noormohammadpour et al, 2012;Cruz-Ferreira et al, 2009) show that there are positive improvements as a result of calisthenics exercises. Some studies (Epstein, 1996;Kloubec, 2010, Segal et al, 2004Kalaycioglu, 2012;Sekendiz et al, 2007) show that there is no statistically significant difference in calcific exercise.…”
