In response to the online channels established by manufacturers, physical retailers are starting to offer innovative services, which will intensify conflicts between manufacturers and retailers. Considering that the conflict will affect the operation efficiency and sustainable development of the supply chain, the coordination mechanism of a dual-channel supply chain has been established. In this study, we construct the Stackelberg game model based on consumer utility theory to analyze the complex mechanism of retailers’ innovation input level affecting supply chain operation and design the double coordination mechanism. The results show that: (1) an optimal combination of wholesale prices, retail prices and innovation input levels can optimize the operational efficiency of the supply chain, (2) Noncooperation among channel members affects the retailer’s product pricing, decreases the market share of the physical channel and increases the market demand of manufacturers, (3) The dual coordination mechanism can alleviate channel conflicts, which can improve the operational efficiency of the supply chain. This study provides several insights on the theory of organizational coordination and sustainable development in conflicts of dual-channel supply chains.

Reflections on Sustainable Consumption in the Context of COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has abruptly disrupted progress toward many of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Accordingly, the UN has underscored the need to design short-term responses to halt and reverse the adverse effects of the current COVID-19 crisis. However, some researchers have scrutinized the feasibility and note the potential counterproductivity of particular SDGs in our post-pandemic world. This perspective paper holds a more hopeful outlook and contends that the COVID-19 pandemic has the potential to prompt efforts to carry out the UN's 2030 Agenda. In this regard, this paper engages the theme of “sustainable consumption” in the context of COVD-19 by discussing two perspectives or bodies of work-supply chain sustainability and post-colonial theory. Supply chain sustainability is discussed as one such promising, though underutilized practice, that could potentially catalyze progress toward SDG 12. Likewise, post-colonial theory, a body of knowledge rarely drawn upon in sustainable consumption and SDG conversations, is presented to call attention to some of the gaps in the orthodoxy of sustainable consumption approaches, practices, and theoretical perspectives. This perspective paper's novelty lies in the fact that it calls attention to the promise of the SDGs and the limits of our current theoretical frameworks related to sustainable consumption. For these reasons, these bodies of work can provoke additional questions and avenues for future research.

Recent advances in the development of information technology and the rapid use of decision support systems play significant roles in various fields, including the fisheries sector. Fishery-based activity for small island regions created more complicated problems that limited marine resources and high production costs. Thus, the need to develop efficient and effective tools for interconnecting supply and production becomes more crucial than ever to help local coastal communities. This study aimed to designs a web-based DSS for a sustainable supply chain of sectors in Southeast Maluku Regency, Indonesia (SIRIPIKAN). Firstly, we crafted the DSS framework to identify the fishing, supplier, and seller locations. Secondly, we measured the level of sustainability of marine resources. Thirdly, the web-based DSS can help local coastal communities increase managers' capability and ability in the fisheries-related business activity carried out. SIRIPIKAN aims to increase the profitability of fisheries business activities in coastal communities and preserve marine resources. This research combined the data mining activities with spatial analysis to obtain the cluster support map and MSY to measure sustainability and feasibility study as an approach for the development of the system. The model provides an integrated sustainable production with users' input used to optimize the decision-making process of profitability and sustainability in existing marine resources.
