Lee and Chang 22 tested NiTi wires that had been exposed to artificial saliva for 4 weeks and a similar group that was then sterilized at 121°C at 15 to 20 psi for 20 minutes. Although there was no difference in tensile properties or bending fatigue, there were increases in surface roughness and coefficient of friction in the recycled group.…”
