“…When the alkyl chain length was middle one ( 3b ), the absorption maximum tends to shift toward higher frequency (1728 cm −1 ). Since the molecular weight of 3b and 3c (>200 000 g mol −1 ) was much higher than that of 3a (≈90 000 g mol −1 ) (Table ), high molecular weight‐related topological restriction of 3b and 3c is considered to be governed by chain movement . On the other hand, as seen in the IR spectrum of 3a in Figure S2 of the Supporting Information, various energy states of the carbonyl region suggest that the carbonyl group of MPC part was attracted by inhomogeneously distributed C 2 H 5 ‐POSS moiety in the MPC‐based polymeric backbone.…”

“…Because of the topology of networks, it may be a good strategy to find a substance that can act as a central point to connect TA molecules as nodes to form an interconnecting network. Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS), as a multifunctional nanometer hybrid material, exhibits high chemical stability and excellent design ability of end-functional groups. POSS molecules have shown great potential in the reinforcement fields of mechanical properties by means of their copolymerization, chemical grafting, and physical blending via improvement of compatibility with the polymer matrix. ,, Jiang et al successfully constructed trisilanollsobutyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (SO 1450 POSS) on the surface of a carbon fiber by grafting reaction. The monofilament tensile strength of carbon fiber was increased by 1.53%.…”

“…The tensile strength, the izod impact strength, and the elongation at break of the nanocomposite containing 1 wt% of V‐POSS are increased by 15.73%, 75.62%, and 72.71%, respectively in comparison with pristine HIPS. V‐POSS can act as a cross‐linking point to participate in the free radical addition reaction of MMA 31,32 . After crosslinking, the structure of polymer chain changes from linear to three‐dimensional network, which can improve the mechanical properties, heat resistance, and dimensional stability of polymers.…”
