“…[29] The higher energy contribution might be assigned to amino groups which are coordinated to the metal ions in the surface or to protonated amino groups. [30] The corresponding Si2p spectrum could be described by a single component located at 102.2 eV and is according to its binding energy related to the siloxane groups C-Si(OSi) 3 . [31] Both the PM-IRRAS data and the XPS analysis indicate an extremely thin film with a thickness less than the information depth of the XPS analysis (typically 5-10 nm).…”

“…[8][9][10] However, the MgO-C refractory lining in vanadium extraction BOF also suffers great corrosion and slag splashing has not been applied for maintainence. [10][11][12][13] The FeO-SiO 2 -MnO-V 2 O 3 -TiO 2 system slag (Vanadium slag) from vanadium extraction BOF has high content iron oxides, about 36 wt%, which leads to high oxidizability. The content of CaO remains low because of subsequent sodium roasting and leaching process, which has load iron oxides in the slag mainly exist in iron protoxide (FeO).…”

“…Then, this slag is treated by sodium roasting to obtain V 2 O 5 . Hence, VECs are a very important component in the vanadium production process as they affect not only the vanadium yield but the grade of the vanadium slag …”

“…It was suggested that slag can penetrate into the interior of MgO particles through the subgrain boundary and cause them to disintegrate . Wang et al investigated the influences of V 2 O 3 , FeO, TiO 2 , MnO, and MgO in vanadium slag on the corrosion mechanism of MgO‐C bricks by conducting stationary immersion tests at 1623 K. The results indicated that FeO, TiO 2 , and MnO enhance the corrosion rate but V 2 O 3 and MgO decrease it . However, the erosion mechanism of each oxide in MgO‐C refractory and the influence of oxide erosion on damage mechanism of MgO‐C refractory have not been studied in the study, it is necessary to study the erosion and damage mechanism of each oxide in refractory to provide a theoretical basis for the subsequent modification of slag and development of a novel refractory.…”
