The aim of this study was to describe goat production system in two districts of Sidama zone of southern Ethiopia using two production systems. Semi-structured questionnaire was developed and employed to gather information regarding the management activities, purpose of keeping goats and selection criteria of farmers to select breeding animals. A total of 240 households were interviewed to collect relevant information for the study. Data collected from questionnaire was statistically analyzed and summarized into descriptive statistics. Indexes was calculated to clarify rankings by using indexes formula. The number goat population is more in Loka Abaya than Aroresa. The primary purpose of keeping goats study area are mainly for their milk, meat and income generation. The reproductive potential of Does reared in the Aroresa district was lower. Broad shoulders, compact frame and short and thick necks of the Bucks were considered as the most important characteristics for selection. Communal grazing and crop aftermath were the most common feed sources reported by farmers in the study area. River was the major water source for goats in the study districts. The major factors limiting the productivity of goats are feed shortage, diseases, labour shortage and lack of improved goat breeds.

Decayed textures have been one of the most important issues and challenges of Tehran's urban management in the last two decades. Therefore, numerous and varied policies, programs, and actions have been adopted and implemented in these decayed areas. The land consolidation is one of the approaches of the renovation of the old and decayed urban texture of Tehran based on resolution 300/310/15301 dated 24/07/2006 of the Supreme Council of Urban Planning and Architecture of Iran and clauses 9-5 of the detailed design rules and regulations finely executed. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the process of land consolidation in the renovation of the urban decayed texture of the Nizamabad neighborhood in zone 1, district 7 of Tehran Municipality. Most of the information required for this research was collected by the field study method. The respondent sampling of this study consisted of the developers, experts, fine-grained unit owners of the combined fine-grained parts of this neighborhood. SPSS software was used to analyze the descriptive data. Chi-Square and Friedman nonparametric statistical tests were used depending on the type of data, the scale of variables and goals. According to the results of this study, the process of implementation of consolidation renovation in the Nizamabad neighborhood has been faced with numerous and various damages.

Land fragmentation has become a serious obstacle to agricultural production, and land transfer and consolidation are traditionally emphasized as the two most effective solutions to this quandary. To identify the extent of land fragmentation accurately and systematically, this study selected the number of plots, the average size of plots, and the average distance between plots to calculate the land fragmentation index (LFI). Taking the Wuhan metropolitan area as a case study, this study examined the effectiveness of farmer-led land transfer and consolidation on land fragmentation. The main results are as follows: (a) most of the transferred plots and contracted plots were not spatially adjacent, suggesting that the tenants could not merge and consolidate both plots; (b) land transfer caused the LFI to increase by 2.85%, suggesting that land transfer had intensified the degree of land fragmentation to some extent; (c) if the transferred and contracted plots were non-adjacent or adjacent but unmerged and unconsolidated, then the LFI might increase or decrease; (d) if the transferred and contracted plots were spatially adjacent, merged, and consolidated, then the LFI decreased significantly.
