Effects of Curcumin Chitosan Microspheres on the Expression of NF-κB, IL-1β, IL-4 and IL-6 in Rats with Ulcerative Colitis

Abstract: The aim of this study was to observe the therapeutic effect of curcumin chitosan microspheres (CCM) on ulcerative colitis (UC) in rats. Rat UC model was prepared by 2,4,6-trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid (TNBS) method. All animals were divided into blank control group (BCG), model control group (MCG), mesalazine enteric-coated tablets group (MECT), curcumin chitosan microsphere low (CCML), medium (CCMM) and high dose groups (CCMH). Starting from the third day after model establishment, the rats were intra-gastric… Show more

“…These outcomes were noticeably better than those attained in mice given mesalazine tablets, a traditional IBD medication. 105 Similarly, ES100-coated and mesalamine-loaded chitosan microspheres also showed potential pH-dependent characteristics as chitosan NPs. 106…”

“…The mesalazine enteric-coated tablets were ground to powder, and then diluted with sterile water for oral administration in mice. 36 The intragastric doses of TPM and probiotics in mice were determined with reference to previous studies. 37,38 The doses of the TPM + probiotics group was selected according to the doses of TPM and probiotics, and both of them were given to mice at the same time, in order to better observe and compare the therapeutic effects in each group.…”
