“…[26][27][28][29] Moreover, the use of surfactants like cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), tetrapropylammonium bromide (TPAB), polyethylene glycol (PEG), sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and polyvinyl pyrrolidone can help in the formation of special morphologies. [30][31][32][33] Another nonionic surfactant, polyoxyethylene sorbitan monooleate, commercially known as Tween-80, also plays an important role in directing the morphology and size formation of nanomaterials. 34 We have recently described some new cross-linked hybrid materials, based on ferrocene and cyclotriphosphazene, that have excellent electrochemical and uorescence properties.…”

“…Subsequently, pretreated graphite is exfoliated into FLG by sonication and centrifugation. The cationic surfactant, hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), is selected as a dispersant and a stabilizer [16,17]. CTAB is commonly considered as the dispersing agent to stabilize aqueous solutions of graphene [18] and it has also been used as the precursor for preparing graphene nanocomposites [19] with promising applications in electrochemical sensing and biosensing [20].…”

“…To further investigate the optimized conditions for producing GO nanosheets, the effect of different concentrations of CTAB as a liquid medium was investigated [ 79 ]. The emphasis on CTAB is due to the possibility of improving the problem of graphene-oxide nanosheet aggregation.…”

“…It was concluded that to improve the quality of the GO nanosheets, there should be a balance between the negative charge of the oxygen functional groups and the positive charge of CTAB molecules. This balance was reached when the concentration of CTAB was 0.04 M [ 79 ] ( Figure 18 ). When comparing 0.04 M CTAB as a liquid medium with liquid nitrogen [ 80 ], it was found that liquid nitrogen produced higher-quality multilayer graphene, while 0.04 M CTAB randomly stacked multilayer GO nanosheets.…”
