“…In the present scenario of our understanding of pineal-adrenal relationship, it appears to be quite rewarding to study the effect of corticoid inhibitor, metyrapone on such an inconclusive relationship. It needs to be emphasized that vivid search of scientific literature fails to report influence of metyrapone, a corticoid inhibitor simultaneously on pineal and adrenal cytology and function in a single animal species, although it was reported that adrenal gland inhibitor metyrapone elevated pineal gland mass in diurnal bird (Sudhakumari and Halder, 2001). Consequently, the present communication is aimed to offer a first time evidence of the study of the influence of corticoid inhibitor, metyrapone on pineal -adrenal karyomorphology, dynamics and its effect on adrenal content of corticosterone hormone in postpubertal male mice.…”
