Effects of Acetazolamide on Concentration of Free Amino Acids in Aqueous Humor

Abstract: The concentration of free amino acids in the aqueous humor just prior to cataract extraction was determined. Pretreatment with acetazolamide generally increased the concentration of free amino acids in the aqueous humor but not in the plasma. The possible implications of the elevated concentration of free amino acids in the aqueous fluid are discussed.
