“…Using fuel additives that have varied chemical compositions is an effective strategy for lessening and offsetting the negative impacts observed in combustion processes. Such additives aid in the establishment of new chemical bonds, thereby converting problematic elements responsible for ash formation into stable materials possessing high melting points [21,22]. Since the use of fuel additives is related to economic factors, it is very important to determine what amount of additive would be sufficient to solve the desired problems.…”

“…Li et al [19] discussed the effect of various additives on K xation during wheat straw combustion, with ammonia dihydrogen sulfate being the most effective, and both K-Al/Fe silicates and K-Ca/Mg phosphates promoting the xation effect. Hariana et al [20] investigated the effect of different additives on slagging and fouling under low-grade coal combustion conditions and found that the addition of silica-aluminabased, aluminum-based, and magnesium-based additives could generate high melting point minerals such as sodium feldspar to increase the ash melting point and reduce the risk of slagging. The above study pointed out that the addition of silica-alumina-based additives is an effective means of xing alkali metals, but there is limited research on the alkali metal xation mechanism and ash melting characteristics of CG as such additives for biomass.…”

“…Most technologies are aimed at fuel adjustment, such as co-firing [11,12], which is the most widely used method, adding additives [13], and extracting alkali metal [5]. Adjusting the boiler structure is another approach.…”
