The JOURNAL OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP, MANAGEMENT AND INNOVATION is an interdisciplinary, double blind-reviewed journal, emphasizing theoretical and empirical articles in entrepreneurship, management, innovation and related fields. The journal is published both in printed form and on-line at www.jemi.edu.pl. THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP AREA OF THE JOURNALThe entrepreneurship area of the journal covers the three major topics: 1) venture creation and small business, 2) the impact of entrepreneurship on economic growth including local and regional development, and 3) entrepreneurial attitudes and motives. We invite original papers of theoretical and empirical nature, rooted in the disciplines of economics, management, sociology, political science, and psychology. The interdisciplinary research is encouraged to assure a comprehensive approach to the topics discussed and to advance both theory and practice. THE MANAGEMENT AREA OF THE JOURNALManagement, as a thematic scope of the journal, focuses on theoretical and empirical considerations of various areas, such as: strategic management, operation or production management, human resource management, information and management, contemporary management problems, new methods and management tools, new forms of organization and management, new threats in management, or new challenges in the organization's environment. THE INNOVATION AREA OF THE JOURNALThe innovation area of the Journal's focus will emphasize a broad range of topics and approaches, including (but not limited to): 1) role of private and public sector in development and diffusion of innovations, 2) product, process and business model innovations, 3) profiles of innovative products, structures and processes, aimed at improving management practice and providing inspiration for entrepreneurs, 4) comparative analyses of national, regional policy or sector issues, such as R&D trends, patents, citations etc., 5) theoretical work on economic, organizational and scientific aspects of innovation, encouraging the search for inspirations from various disciplines, including natural sciences, arts and humanities. THE ENTREPRENEURIAL FINANCE AREA OF THE JOURNALThe entrepreneur or entrepreneurial firm, the institutions providing finance to the entrepreneurs, and the different types of financial sources used by the entrepreneurial firms or investors. Among the areas of our special interests might be enumerated: accounting and corporate finance, financial market as a background for SME development, entrepreneurial finance, regulatory and supervisory aspects related to corporate finance.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to provide a new approach for assessing the input-output efficiency of education and technology for national science and education department. We used the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method to analyze the efficiency sharing activities in education and technology sector, and classify input variables and output variables accordingly. Using the panel data in the education and technology sector of 53 countries, we found that the countries with significant progress in educational efficiency and technological efficiency mainly concentrated in East Asia, especially in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and some other developing countries. We further evaluate the effect of educational and technological efficiencies on national competitiveness, balanced development of the country, national energy efficiency, export, and employment. We found that the efficiency of science and technology has an effect on the balanced development of the country, but that of education has played a counter-productive role; Educational efficiency has a large role and related the country's educational development. In addition, using the panel data analysis, we showed that educational and technological efficiency has different degrees of contributions to the development from 2000 to 2014. It mainly depends on the economic development progress and the push for the education and technological policy. The proposed approach in this paper provides the decision-making support for the education and technological policy formulation, specially the selection of the appropriate education and technological strategies for resource allocation and process evaluation.

Exploring the intellectual structure and evolution of 24 top business journals: a scientometric analysis

Purpose This paper aims to present a longitudinal and visualizing study using scientometric approaches to depict the historical changes in the academic community, intellectual base and research hotspots within the business domain. Design/methodology/approach Two mapping methods are used, namely, co-citation analysis and co-occurrence analysis. Both the co-citation analysis and co-occurrence analysis in this study are conducted using CiteSpace, a Java-based scientific visualization software. Findings This paper detects changes in academic communities in 24 business journals chosen by the University of Texas at Dallas as leading journals (UTD24) and identifies the research hotspots such as corporate governance, organizational research and capital research. Many authors and academic communities appear in two or even three periods, which indicates the lasting academic vitality of scholars in this field. This paper determines the evolution of scholars' research interests by identifying high-frequency keywords during the entire period. Originality/value This paper reveals a systematic and holistic picture of the developmental landscape of the business domain, which can provide a potential guide for future research. Furthermore, based on empirical data and knowledge visualization, the intellectual structure and evolution of the business domain can be identified more objectively.
