Effective Carbon Nanotube/Phenol Formaldehyde Resin Based Double‐Layer Absorbers of Microwave Radiation: Design and Modeling

Abstract: Phenol formaldehyde resin (PFR) based composites with multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) additives (2 and 5 wt.%) were prepared and their electromagnetic (EM) properties were investigated in Ka-band frequency range (26-37 GHz). It was demonstrated that the combination of such materials in a double-layered structure allows achievement of the significant attenuation of EM radiation. The electromagnetic response of considered double-layered system was modeled by solving the electric field integral equation, util… Show more

“…The productive discussions during the meeting (which has been held on 19–24 March 2017) were provided by perfect organization and nice natural environment, including ski slopes, at Krasnaya Polyana resort (Sochi, Russia). The contributions (in total an amount of 30) of this Special Issue are covering research work related to production, characterization and application of the nanocarbon materials which include diamonds, carbon nanotubes, graphene other types of nanocarbon materials, and their composites . Traditionally for the NPO Workshop series there is also some portion of reports devoted to non‐carbon materials demonstrating properties and phenomena analogous to those observed for nanocarbons.…”

“…Among different potential applications the works presented in this Special Issue demonstrate the abilities of graphene and carbon nanotubes for diode and transistor structures, solar cells, and electromagnetic radiation absorbers . Composites containing nanocarbons are efficiently used for different purposes . Polikarpov et al demonstrate how diamond structures may be used for X‐ray optics.…”
