The teat rubber of milking machines is the only structural component of all milking and dairy equipment that is in contact with animals. During operation, the rubber article’s original quality characteristics are compromised. This is due to mechanical wear during operation. The task of the research is to establish changes in the parameters of the teat rubber of milking machines during testing and under industrial conditions. The object of research was the teat rubber of milking machines from various manufacturers, made of various composite materials. A scientific hypothesis put forward assumed that an increase in the efficiency of milking and dairy equipment could be achieved by establishing changes in the parameters of the teat rubber with subsequent maintenance planning. This would provide an opportunity to identify patterns and dependences that characterize these processes. In the course of research, theoretical dependences were derived to determine the operation of teat rubber in idle mode and the theoretical time of its operation. It was established that the theoretical wear period of the teat rubber is about 120–170 hours. It was determined that in the environment of SZHR-3, the coefficient of aging in terms of intensity was >2 times higher compared to Skydrol LD-4. The volume under similar conditions of exposure of liquids on samples exceeded by more than 3 times. It is proved that the change in the mass of rubber under the influence of SZHR-3 exceeds more than 2.5 times the indicators obtained from the effects of Skydrol LD-4. It was established that during long-term operation the teat rubber undergoes changes in its physical and mechanical properties. Thus, hardness and elasticity increase, elasticity decreases due to the destruction of the internal structure of rubber due to the formation of microcracks, the vacuum of closing the walls increases. Knowledge of the quality characteristics of the teat rubber would make it possible to find the optimal solution for the choice of rubber articles

One of the tasks that imply increasing the milk productivity of cows is to create optimal maintenance conditions that ensure the increased use of the genetic potential of cattle based on the implementation of engineering and technological solutions. A mathematical model has been built that links the technical and technological parameters of the vacuum system of milking equipment, namely, the value of the working vacuum P, the pulsation frequency n, the ratio of pulsation cycles, and the tension strength of milking rubber FH to cows’ milk yield rate V. The range of milking plant operating parameters for milking in the milk line has been determined, at which the milk yield rate is maximum: P=52 kPa, n=57.6–58.8 min–1, δ=0.59–0.64, FH=59.3–60.4 H. Under these parameters, the milk yield rate is V=1.48–1.53 l/min. The results of the multifactor experiment have helped construct an adequate mathematical model of the second order, which confirms the theoretical dependence of the influence of the technical and technological parameters of the vacuum system of milking equipment on milk yield rate and the air flow of the milking machine. Analysis of the mathematical model has made it possible to establish the rational structural and technological parameters for the vacuum system of a milking machine: the value of the working vacuum, P=50.6 kPa; pulsation frequency, n=55.9 min–1, the ratio of pulsation cycles and the tension force of milking rubber FH=64.8 H. Under these parameters, the milk yield rate is maximum: V=1.47–1.52 l/min; the air flow consumption of the milking machine is Q=2.19 m3/h. The mathematical model built fully reveals the influence of technical and technological parameters of milking equipment on the efficiency of machine milking. Owing to this, the issue related to the rational choice of equipment is resolved.

The sanitary condition of milking equipment and dairy equipment is one of the main factors on which the quality and, primarily, the safety of the obtained products depend. According to the approved requirements, means for the sanitary treatment of milking equipment must have a broad antimicrobial spectrum, high bactericidal activity both in the absence and presence of organic substances and water hardness salts, destroy microorganisms that can form a biofilm, and are present in it, not cause an irritating effect on the skin of the hands, be non-toxic or low-toxic, etc. Therefore, to establish the disinfectant's compliance with the specified requirements, even at the stage of its development, it is envisaged to carry out toxicological studies aimed at determining toxicity, side effects, and the ability to accumulate in the body. Our work aimed to establish the toxicity parameters of the developed acidic detergent-disinfectant with polyhexamethyleneguanidine intended for the sanitary-hygienic treatment of milking equipment and dairy equipment. Indicators of acute toxicity of the developed disinfectant were determined in preliminary and extensive experiments. In a preliminary experiment, it was established that the administration of the native remedy to rats at a dose of 500, 1000, and 2000 mg/kg of body weight did not cause their death, while at a dose of 5000 mg/kg of body weight, it caused the death of the animals. In an acute experiment, it was established that the studied detergent-disinfectant based on orthophosphate acid with polyhexamethyleneguanidine at a dose of 2000 mg/kg of body weight did not cause the death of rats, while at a dose of 2500 mg/kg of body weight, it caused the death of 1 animal, at a dose of 3000 mg/kg – 2 animals, and in doses of 3500, 4000 and 4500 mg/kg of body weight – 4, 5 and 6 animals, respectively. Examining the acute toxicity of a 0.5 % solution of the studied disinfectant in doses of 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 mg/kg of body weight in a focused experiment and 5000 and 10000 mg/kg of body weight in an extended experiment, it was established that there were no dead or sick rats. It has been proven that, according to SOU 85.2-37-736:2011, the substance under study belongs to the IV toxicity class, which combines low-toxic substances, since its DL50 in its native form for white rats with intragastric administration is more than 3250 mg/kg of body weight, and 0.5 % solution – more than 10,000 mg/kg of body weight. In its native form, the developed disinfectant causes slight irritation of the skin and mucous membrane of the eyes of rabbits. At a concentration of 0.5 %, it has no irritating effect. The tool does not accumulate in the body, has no resorptive effect, and does not cause probable changes in the mass of internal organs. With long-term intragastric administration, it causes an increase in the number of leukocytes, hemoglobin and total protein, ALT, and AST activity (P < 0.001) and a decrease in the number of lymphocytes, monocytes, lipids and triglycerides, hematocrit value, alkaline phosphatase activity, lysozyme, and bactericidal activity.
