“…The different aspect ratios of the SBTV ceramics were caused by the addition of V 2 O 5 because the low melting point of V 2 O 5 acts as a liquid-phase-sintering aid and promotes the growth of the (00 l ) planes. 17 However, the small voids or pores on the SrBi 2 Ta 1.6 V 0.4 O 9 ceramics were more apparent compared with those on the SrBi 2 (Ta 2– x V x )O 9 ( x = 0.1-0.3) ceramics presented in Figure 1a–c. This result is caused by the upright anisotropic plate-type grains that grow on the plane anisotropic plate-type SrBi 2 Ta 1.6 V 0.4 O 9 ceramics.…”

“…These differences in the microstructures of the SrBi 2 (Ta 1.7 V 0.3 )O 9 ceramics were observed due to the addition of V 2 O 5 because the low melting point of V 2 O 5 acts as a liquid-phase-sintering aid and causes rapid growth of the (00 l ) planes. 17 Zhang et al posited that SBT ceramics densify and shows the disklike grains after sintering at 1280 °C for 3 h. 21 By comparing the results presented in Figure 8d, it is evident that the addition of V 2 O 5 in SBT ceramics can lower the temperatures required to densify SBT-based ceramics.…”

“…[12][13][14] During RTGG process, some critical factors can affect the final texture: morphology and size of anisotropic template particles, homogenous and fine-grained matrix powders, uniform contact and an epitaxial match between the matrix and template, and a mechanism for boundary migration. [15][16][17] According to JCPDS Cards # 34-0108 and # 34-0429, Sr 2 KNb 5 O 15 (SKN) has the same phase structure (tetragonal tungsten bronze structure) as SNN and the lattice parameter difference is less than 0.01 in both a and c directions at room temperature. So SKN is selected as template to prepare SNNbased textured ceramics by RTGG method.…”

“…An usual way was to add a few amount of sintering aids to promote the densification, and in some cases to achieve better epitaxial growth as well. According to the literature review, a few kinds of sintering aids were often chosen for different matrix compositions, for example, PbO, Bi 2 O 3 , CuO, Sb 2 O 3 and V 2 O 5 in Pb(Mg 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 -PbTiO 3 , NBT, (K 0.5 Na 0.5 )NbO 3 , (K 0.5 Na 0.5 )(Nb 0.97 Sb 0.03 )O 3 and Sr 0.4 Ba 0.6 Nb 2 O 6 , respectively [12][13][14][15][16]. These sintering aids could usually improve the densification by facilitating the mass transport, and simultaneously promote the evolution of the texture by enhancing the kinetics of template grain preferential growth [12,[14][15][16].…”
