Effect of topical tubercidin on basal cell carcinomas and actinic keratoses

Abstract: The nucleoside Tubercidin was applied topically in a 0.5% concentration to solitary basal cell carcinomas in eight patients and widespread actinic keratoses in five patients for periods of 2–6 weeks. The treatment resulted in complete resolution of all eight basal cell carcinomas. All patients have been followed for 1 1/2 years. No recurrences have been observed.
