Results of Agenbag & Maree (1988;1991) showed that the yield of spring wheat in shallow, stony soil in Mediterranean-type climates is reduced if NT is applied. This response is attributed to higher soil cone resistance which reduced root growth, less mineral-N in the soil at seeding and poor plant establishment.…”
