Effect of the Proteolytic Enzymes of Bacillus licheniformis and the Lysoamidase of Lysobacter sp. XL1 on Proteus vulgaris and Proteus mirabilis Cells

Abstract: Preparations of culture liquid of three Bacullus licheniformis strains (S, 103, and 60.4) and the enzymatic preparation lysoamidase from culture liquid of Lysobacter sp. strain XL1 actively lysed pre-autoclaved cells of the gram-negative bacteria Proteus vulgaris and P. mirabilis. Living Proteus cells treated with these enzymatic preparations were lysed during their subsequent autoclaving. Inoculation of enzyme-treated Proteus cells, taken either separately or in combination with one another and polymyxin B, i… Show more

“…The reaction mixture contained v / v of the bacterial cell wall solution and AgNPs (50 µg/mL), and was incubated at 37 °C for 60 min. The OD was measured at 600 nm, and the decrease in OD with 0.001/mL/min corresponded to 1AU of lysozyme activity [ 46 ].…”

“…Fibrinolytic enzyme, produced by B. vallismortis showed high efficacyin lysis of Streptococcus mutants [27]. Some Bacilluslytic enzymes are active against Gram-negative bacteria [28], others have broad spectrum of activity, including Gram-positive and Gramnegative bacteria [29,30]and yeasts [31].…”
