Effect of the diverse combinations of useful microbes and chemical fertilizers on important traits of potato

Abstract: The belowground soil environment is an active space for microbes, particularly Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) and P hosphate Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB) that can colonize with roots of higher plants. In the present experiment, we evaluated the combination of microbial inoculants with the different doses of urea and superphosphate in a complete randomized block design (CRBD). Three different doses of urea and superphosphate were tested, i.e., recommended dose, 75% of the recommended dose and 125% of the rec… Show more

“…The DRCR indicator was far above 3.5, but had a competitive advantage with the PCR value of less than one, i.e. 0.41 [ 52 ]. These contrasting results were presumably due to government intervention in the form of subsidies, import tariffs, as well as obstructions in the distribution of potato commodity from abroad resulting in difficult entry to the Iraqi market.…”

“…Short day duration at the time of flowering may result in abscission of floral bud [58]. Flower and fruit production in potato is influenced by several factors such as genotype, temperature, photoperiod, inflorescence position, plant/stem density, competition between flower and tuber, precipitation, date of planting and nutrient level [61][62][63][64][65]. Flowers remain open for 2-4 days, and out of this duration, pollen production and stigma remains receptive for about 2 days [57].…”

“…The setting of berries ranged from 0 to more than 5 berries/plant, while there no setting in 31.8% of accessions in blooming. Production of flowers and fruits is influenced by several factors like temperature, photoperiod, genotype, inflorescence position, plant/stem density, flower and tuber competition, precipitation, date of planting and nutrient level [61][62][63][64][65]. The number of primary flowers increased with increase in plant density while the proportion of flowers on lateral stems reduced [62].…”

“…[31] Soil fertilization with the biochemical fertilizers such as AMF and Pseudomonas species have improved growth and yield components. [32][33][34][35][36] AMF and PFB were more useful for increasing plant nutrients, improving leaf relative water content and decreased ion leakage. [37] E.angustifolia showed increased echinacoside content by applying K. In all addition to increasing absorption of nutrients, development by plant hormones, controlling plant pathogens and some other factors.…”
