This investigation was carried out to minimize Cotton and Cotton–polyester stretchable denim fabrics consumption for garment development through marker making. It was achieved by controlling fabric shrinkage by reducing drying temperature after washing in fixed processing time, without compromising properties of denim; Tensile strength, Stretch (growth and recovery at constant and cyclic loading) and colour strength (K/S) of required shade. warp faced 3x1 and 2x1 denim containing elastin were constructed and then washed using same recipe as per industrial practice however drying temperatures were set at 50oC, 60oC and 70oC, separately. After measuring shrinkage and evaluating tensile strength, Stretch, Growth and recovery at constant and cyclic loading and colour strength (K/S) using standard test methods; trouser marker layout was developed by employing Gerber technology to investigate fabrics consumption. The obtained shrinkage % demonstrated a significant coefficient of determination (R2=0.9931) against drying temperatures. Relation of tensile strength, colour strength and growth were insignificant however stretch, growth and recovery at static and cyclic loading were significantly affected by changing temperatures. Average shrinkage % of stretchable denim fabric was 1.71% in warp and 8.24% in weft at 50oC. It increased to 12.05% in weft at 60oC however remained same in warp while against 70oC it was 1.82% in warp and 14.08% in weft. 10 minutes drying time was kept same for selected drying temperatures. It was found that fabric consumption reduced to 1.25 m per trouser from 1.32 m per trouser by setting drying temperature at 50oC. Present research work provides guideline to denim industries to process stretchable denim at lower drying temperature i.e., 50oC because it not only reduced consumption of elastin containing denim fabric, but it also makes process cost effective as well as environmentally friendly.

This research paper was intended to provide a conceptual discussion related to the newly arisen business model termed as "China-Plus-One", which deals with the practice of international trade between China and a 3 rd world Asian country. One of the key achievements of this strategy is that it encourages mutually beneficial trade across geographical boundary. Different world recognized global studies had proclaimed that the Southeast Asiatic region will be the next hotspot of textile and apparel trade due to the availability of raw materials and low paid labor force. As a result, numerous industrial groups of China are looking forward to attaining comparative business advantages by investing at another location of manufacturing in the Southeast Asia. This research paper conveyed a two-fold story. In the very beginning, it was expected to evaluate the comparative market position of the major textile and apparel trade competitors (especially China, Bangladesh and Vietnam). Later on, it analyzed the pattern of rapidly changing business situation due to competitive production factors such as labor cost, logistic support, utility cost, ease of doing business, corruption index etc. Though "China-Plus-One" strategy is a promising one, not that much study hadn't yet taken place regarding it. China-Plus-One strategy appears to be beneficial for both firms that seek to pursue it with a view to risk diversification, cost advantage, product and market diversification. The purpose of this study is to sort out the convergence or divergence of textile and apparel trade in the Southeast Asiatic region due to this business philosophy.

New Laccase-Mediated System Utilized for Bio-Discoloration of Indigo-Dyed Denim Fabrics

In this study, indigo-dyed denim fabric was decolorized by washing and printing with separate and simultaneous applications of laccase enzyme, sodium hydrosul te, and cellulase enzyme. In this regard, the surface re ectance and color coordinates of the discolored fabrics were analyzed, and SEM photographs of the treated fabrics were prepared to analyze their surfaces. Finally, the effects of the discoloration process and materials on various parameters of the treated samples were investigated, including moisture content, creaserecovery angle, air permeability, and abrasion resistance. The color experiments showed that the discoloration mechanism with the combined use of laccase enzyme, sodium hydrosul te, and cellulose enzyme had a signi cant effect on the improvement of the lightness (L*) of the samples, as the lightness of the treated samples was improved by 101.18 percent and 55.79 percent in both printing and washing, respectively. Furthermore, examination of specimen color coordinates revealed that the hue of the treated samples was changed to blue and green, and the purity of color (C*) was improved. The increased moisture content and air permeability of the treated specimens suggested that the comfort of the jeans clothing provided by these treatment methods had improved. As a result, it should be noted that the mediating action of sodium hydrosul te was signi cantly in uential for discoloration of denim with the laccase enzyme.
