Effect of sonication to the stability properties of carboxymethyl cellulose/uncaria gambir extract water-based lubricant

Abstract: This study examined the effect of sonication on FTIR and stability at various temperatures in water-based lubricants with a mixture of Carboxymethyl Cellulose (1wt%) and Uncaria Gambir extract (1wt% and 2wt%). The sample was prepared by mixing the two materials into distilled water using a magnetic stirrer and sonicator with time variations of 5 and 10 minutes. Before mixing, the Uncaria Gambir extract solution with water is first centrifuged to remove the dregs in the Uncaria Gambir extract powder. Stability … Show more

“…2 showed that molarity concentration [FFA] affects the amount of yield of hydrocarbon produced. The more concentrated the solution, the higher the yield is obtained (Rahmadiawan et al, 2022). It aligned with (Primo et al, 2021) and (Razak & Zulfia, 2023), the more concentrated the solution, the greater the amount of acetic acid, and the higher the voltage, the higher the ability to conduct electricity (Alves et al, 2021).…”

“…Several studies on the use of natural fibres including coconut coir fibres in practical applications are used to insulate traditional fishermen's fish storage boxes [22]. In this work, the good dispersion stability in water properties of 10% NaOH can be a candidate as a water-based lubricant additive [14].…”

“…When there is no precipitate or agglomeration, the suspension is stable. This can happen if the substances in the solution have different densities, particle sizes, or other physical properties [14]. If there is more than 30% sedimentation or agglomeration in the glass tube, the suspension is unstable [15].…”
