“…the more the sol is aged; the greater is the crystallinity with random orientation. This is consistent with Dutta et al 36 . Also, Fathollahi et al 37 found a threefold increase in the intensity of (002) reflection of zinc oxide films using a 3-week-aged zinc acetate solution in comparison to the freshly prepared solution when all the other variables were kept fixed.…”

“…The transmittance is found to be 65-75 % at the wavelength 400 nm for the Zirconia thin films prepared at different solute concentrations. Further, the figure shows that the transmittance increases with the increase in scattering due to large grain size and crystal aggregate, caused by the increase in film thickness with concentration [16]. The extension coefficient k f is obtained from the transmission spectra using the relation, where T is the transmittance, λ is the wavelength of light and t is the thickness of the corresponding film.…”

“…As the solute concentration increases the grains size also increases which may be due to the solute particles becomes larger thereby increasing the chance of more solute to be gathered together forming a grain. The FWHM value decreases linearly as the concentration increases indicating a better crystallinity of the films with higher solute concentration [16,17].The dislocation intensity and micro strain were calculated using the relation and . The dislocation density and micro strain tend to decreases as solute concentration increases which may be due to crystalline structure of the Zirconia thin films.…”

“…Notably, ZnO possesses a wide direct band-gap energy of 3.37 eV and a larger exciton-binding energy of 60 meV, 3) that have been used by several deposition techniques, such as RF magnetron sputtering, molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD), pulsed laser deposition (PLD) and the solgel process. [4][5][6][7][8] Among these methods, the sol-gel method enjoys the advantages of being able to prepare large area ZnO thin films at low cost and easy technology. 9) Therefore, several investigations have prepared UV photodetectors using sol-gel synthesized ZnO thin films.…”
