High quality material production has been among the work of many researchers in recent years. These materials, which are obtained mostly by the production of composite materials, enable the production of lighter, more durable and less costly products. Increasing environmental pollution in recent years, protection of natural resources and ensuring recycling have increased the importance of wood plastic composite material production. In this study, wood plastic composite material was obtained by using ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) plastic material and six different fruit shell powders (walnut, pistachio, peanut, almond, hazelnut and apricot shell). The mechanical properties of the obtained composite material were determined and its effect on the I type snap-fits was analyzed in ANSYS software. When the resulting composite material's mechanical properties were tested, it was found that the density and tensile strength decreased while the Vicat softening point value and melt flow rate increased. In the analysis performed using the ANSYS software, it was found that the composite I type snap-fit design of the same size can resist 12.6% N less force when the material is subjected to its maximum values when it achieves the elongation at break value.

Atık PET ile Modifiye Edilmiş Bitümlü Sıcak Karışımların Nem Direnci

Bu çalışmada, atık PET katkısının bitümlü sıcak karışımların (BSK) nem hasarı direnci üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla, ilk olarak bitüm ile PET arasında kimyasal bir bağ oluşturmak üzere saf B 70/100 bitümüne ağırlıkça % 2.5 Trietanolamin (TEO/TEOA) kimyasalı ilave edildi. Daha sonra, bu bitüm-TEO karışımına bitümün ağırlıkça % 2, % 4, % 6, % 8 ve % 10 oranlarında atık PET ilave edilerek modifiye bitümler elde edildi. Modifiye bitüm numuneleri, bitüm ile PET arasındaki etkileşimi belirlemek için X-Işını Kırınımı (XRD) ve Taramalı Elektron Mikroskobu (SEM) testlerine tabi tutuldu. Çalışmanın ikinci aşamasında, saf bitüm ve agrega kullanılarak Marshall karışım tasarım yöntemine göre karışımın optimum bitüm içeriği (obi) belirlendi. Saf (kontrol) karışım sonuçlarıyla karşılaştırmak amacıyla, bu bitüm oranı sabit tutularak modifiye karışım numuneleri hazırlandı. Hazırlanan karışım numuneleri Marshall stabilitesi ve akma, kalıcı Marshall stabilitesi (RMS) ve dolaylı çekme mukavemeti (ITS) testlerine tabi tutuldu. Test sonuçlarına göre, atık PET ilavesi ile bitümün sertleşme eğilimi gösterdiği ve bitüm ile PET arasında iyi bir kimyasal etkileşim oluştuğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, atık PET katkısının karışımların Marshall stabilitesi ve akma değeri üzerinde ciddi bir etkiye sahip olmadığı, ancak RMS ve dolaylı çekme mukavemeti oranı (ITSR) değerlerinde önemli artışlar meydana getirerek karışımların nem hasarı direncini arttırdığı görülmüştür.

The main objective of this project is to investigate the viscoelastic behavior of polypropylene material. The theory of viscoelasticity is used to understand how a polypropylene material can be modeled mathematically to make a complete analysis. The timedependent stress-strain response of the polypropylene material is investigated with the relaxation test that is carried out with the material. Then the required parameters for mathematical models such as elasticity or stiffness, k or E, along with the relaxation time, 𝝉, is found to illustrate this behavior. The response curve from experiments is compared with the analytical study with the theory that includes the mathematical models to complete a finite element analysis on Marc. The curve that is achieved from this analysis overlapped with the one coming from the analytical study. Forced oscillation procedure is carried out in Marc to simulate the dynamic analysis test. Internal energy loss of the specimen is inspected via the hysteresis graph.
