Estudios previos relacionados con la densidad de población en tomate, señalan que a medida que esta se aumenta, se incrementa también el rendimiento por unidad de área (Fandi et al, 2007), sin embargo, se afecta significativamente el peso promedio del fruto (Sánchez et al, 2017), tendencias similares se reportan en el cultivo de pepino (López et al, 2015), en pimiento morrón (Cruz et al, 2009), en el cultivo de tomatillo (Ponce et al, 2012), y en el cultivo de estevia (Jarma et al, 2011), además de que una mayor densidad regula la competencia entre las plantas por los factores agroclimáticos, CO 2 y radiación que necesita la planta para expresar su máximo potencial de rendimiento (Fandi et al, 2007., Ucan et al, 2005.…”
