Kulit kayu bangkal (Nauclea subdita) dimanfaatkan masyarakat Kalimantan Selatan sebagai bahan baku kosmetik alami berupa bedak dingin atau pupur bangkal. Potensi ini diteliti oleh Baristand Industri Banjarbarumenjadi bahan baku kosmetika dan farmasi. Pembuatan ekstrak kulit kayu bangkal menggunakan bahan baku yang telah dihaluskan. Proses ini dilakukan secara manual dengan cara memotong dan menumbuk. Perancangan prototipe alat pencacah kulit kayu bangkal bertujuan mempermudah proses penghalusan dan meningkatkan hasil produksi. Prototipe memiliki dimensi panjang 27 cm, lebar 15 cm, dan tinggi 11 cm. Motor listrik sebagai sumber putaran pisau pencacah memiliki masukan daya 186 W dan tegangan 220 V. Daya motor listrik dapat menghasilkan gaya sebesar 28,19 N pada ujung mata pisau dan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan gaya pemotongan bahan kulit kayu bangkal kondisi kering sebesar 21,6 N. Pisau pencacah berjenis pisau bergerak berjumlah dua buah, menempel pada poros dengan jarak 180° dan mata pisau searah putaran poros. Pisau terbuat dari bahan high speed steel(HSS) yang cocok digunakan sebagai mata pisau pencacah dengan putaran tinggi. Kapasitas maksimal alat pencacah adalah 1,855 kg/jam. Modal tetap dalam pembuatan alat pencacah kulit kayu bangkal sebesar Rp 3.675.000. Sedangkan biaya operasional yang meliputi biaya energi listrik, biaya penyusutan dan biaya perawatan adalah sebesar Rp 385,13/kg.
