“…In this in situ staining challenge of resin‐based composites, the tested beverages differently affect the material's discoloration. The different color stability results may be related to the material's composition . Red wine and coffee induced the highest Δ E * for both IPS Empress Direct and Filtek Z350 XT, corroborating with findings from other studies .…”

“…On the other hand, in accordance with Schneider et al (5), the high concentration of the photoinitiator system may guarantee a high monomer conversion and consequently higher physical and mechanical properties of the composites. Therefore, the intense yellow hue of CQ places practical limits on the concentration of photoinitiators that can be used, because of the esthetic properties, but this may not limit the degree of polymerization and depth of cure that can be attained (9).…”

“…22 The camphorquinone + TPO association also showed better color stability when compared to camphorquinone alone, after 30 days of storage in water. 23 Regarding other color parameters, ΔL and Δa had more stability than Δb, since the challenge used may have a greater affecton coordinate b, such as occurred with another study. 20 Furthermore, when comparing the resin composites, there were no differences in ΔL and similar differences found in Δa, regardless of the LUC used.…”
