“…The variations in thermal expansion coefficients among the oxide layer and the aluminum substrate might be responsible for these microcracks that are formed on the oxide film. Induced tensile residual stresses on the coating can also worsen the fatigue strength . Because the anodizing film is noticeably adhered to the substrate (aluminum alloy), any surface crack, which might be formed throughout the sealing procedure, can effortlessly advance into the substrate.…”
