Kompleks bölgesel ağrı sendromu, olayı başlatan nedenle orantılı olmayan şiddetli ağrı ile tanımlanan semptomlar birleşimidir. Tedavisinde analjezikler, steroid, bifosfonatlar gibi farmakolojik ajanlar, fizik tedavi uygulamaları gibi bir çok tedavi seçeneği olsa da vakaların iyilik halini arttırmada enjeksiyon yöntemleri arasında nöralterapi de tercih edilebilmektedir. Bu makalede, el bileği kırığı sonrası gelişen kompleks bölgesel ağrı sendromu tanılı bir hastanın tedavisine eklenen nöral terapi uygulamasının sonuçlarına yer verilmiştir. 46 yaşında kadın hastaya fizik tedavi ve rehabilitasyon programına ek olarak uygulanan 4 seans nöral terapi tedavisi sonucunda hastanın ağrı ve ödemi azalmış, eklem hareket açıklığı internal fiksatörün izin verdiği maksimum sınırda artmıştır. Kompleks bölgesel ağrı sendromunda tedaviye dirençli vakalarda nöral terapi uygulamasının önerilebileceği sonucuna varılmıştır.Complex regional pain syndrome is a combination of symptoms characterized by severe pain that is disproportionate to the cause that initiated the event. Although there are many treatment options, such as analgesics, pharmacological agents, steroids and bisphosphonates, and physical therapy applications, neural therapy can also be preferred among injection methods to increase the well-being of the cases. In this article, the results of neural therapy application added to the treatment of a patient diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome that developed after wrist fracture are included. As a result of 4 sessions of neural therapy applied to a 46-year-old female patient in addition to the physical therapy and rehabilitation program, the patient's pain and edema decreased, and joint range of motion increased to the maximum limit allowed by the internal fixator. It was concluded that neural therapy may be recommended in treatment-resistant cases of complex regional pain syndrome.

Application of Acupuncture for Shoulder Pain Over the Past 22 Years: A Bibliometric Analysis

Acupuncture is widely used to relieve shoulder pain. A survey was conducted in order to recognize hotspots and frontiers of acupuncture for shoulder pain from the year 2000-2022. Methods: The Web of Science Core Collection was used to collect literature related to acupuncture therapy for shoulder pain, which spanned January 2000 to August 2022. The number of publications yearly, countries/institutions, journals, and keywords was analyzed and visualized in shoulder pain with acupuncture therapy by CiteSpace v.5.7.R5. Results: We totally analyzed 214 articles that met the inclusion criteria. The overall trend of publication volume continues to increase. The most productive authors in the field were César Fernández las Peñas and José L Arias-Buría, and the most influential author was Green S. Kyung Hee University and the People's Republic of China had the highest volume of publications, respectively. The most influential journal is Pain with high citation and impact factor. The hot keywords were "acupuncture", "shoulder pain", "dry needling", "randomized trial", and "injection". The research frontier in acupuncture for treating chronic shoulder pain was mainly "mechanism". Conclusion: Over the last 22 years, the findings of this bibliometric analysis have provided research trends and frontiers in clinical research on acupuncture therapy for patients with shoulder pain, which identifying hot topics and exploring new directions for the future may be helpful to researchers. Studying mechanisms underlying acupuncture therapy for shoulder pain remains a focus of future research.

Introduction: To investigate how 1% procaine injection therapy, one of the neural therapeutic agents, affects neck disability and pain intensity in patients who have cervical discopathies that are causing chronic neck pain and/or functional limitations Methods: The records of 58 patients diagnosed with cervical discopathy were examined. The Range of Motion values, Neck Disability Questionnaire and Visual Analog Scale scores were compared at baseline and one month after neural therapy. The results of cervical magnetic resonance imaging were analyzed, and the mean scores were compared between the protrusion and bulging. P values of <0.05 were considered statistically significant. Results: A statistically significant increase was observed in Range of Motion values after NT in all movements of the neck and the decrease in the mean Visual Analog Scale and Neck Disability Index scores after neural therapy were found to be statistically significant in both the protrusion and bulging groups. Conclusion: This is the first study providing evidence of the effects of neural therapy on neck pain severity and neck disability in adult patients with cervical discopathies (protrusion and bulging) presenting with chronic neck pain resistant to medical treatment, who had not yet made a surgical decision.
