Lake Rawapening, Semarang Regency, Indonesia, has incorporated a holistic plan in its management practices. However, despite successful target achievements, some limitations remain, and a review of its management plan is needed. This paper identifies and analyzes existing lake management strategies as a standard specifically in Lake Rawapening by exploring various literature, both legal frameworks and scholarly articles indexed in the Scopus database and Google Scholar about lake management in many countries. By using Publish or Perish with the keywords “lake management” OR “management of lake”, 1532 and 1990 works from the Scopus database and Google Scholar, respectively, have been reduced 37. The results show that there are two major types of lake management, namely pillar-based and object-based. The holistic review has resulted in nine points of pillar-based management, which consists of conceptual paradigms as the foundation, and 11 points of object-based management to restore or preserve the lake, which is in line with the form of programs and activities. Overall, Lake Rawapening management should be concerned with finance and technology when applying pillar-based management, and it should include more activities within programs on erosion-sedimentation control as well as monitoring of operational performance using information systems to ensure the implementation of activities within programs in applying object-based lake management.

In forensic investigations, semen samples are a common form of biological evidence, especially in cases involving sexual assault. Therefore, accurately estimating the age of an individual is crucial in criminal cases. This study presents a novel age estimation model based on semen‐specific CpG methylation patterns. A multiplex panel was developed, consisting of 12 CpG sites (PARP14, C5orf25, cg23488376, MXRA5, PFKFB3, DLL1, NOX4, cg12837463, TTC7B, KCNA7, NKX2‐1, and SYNE4), which exhibit strong correlations with age. Additionally, this study investigates the resilience of these methylation markers under simulated environmental challenges. We collected ejaculate samples from a diverse cohort of 115 male individuals, aged 20–71 years, who underwent deoxyribonucleic acid extraction and bisulfite conversion. Methylation levels of the selected CpG sites were assessed using a SNaPshot assay, which revealed significant correlations with chronological age. We developed and validated two robust age estimation models through stepwise and enter regression analyses, achieving reliable accuracy with mean absolute errors ranging from 3.81 to 4.1 years. Additionally, the study also investigated the robustness of semen stains under diverse environmental conditions, including fabric type, washing, hematin exposure, and UV‐C light. The selected methylation markers demonstrated remarkable resilience despite the challenges posed by washing procedures and environmental exposure, confirming their potential for age estimation in forensic genetics. This research presents successful age estimation models, emphasizing the strong correlations between methylation levels and chronological age. The proposed methodology's accuracy is affirmed through model validation on an independent test set, while also highlighting the resilience of semen stains on fabrics under varying storage and washing conditions.

There are a variety of causes for male infertility. Among them is microbial infection. Lemongrass (C. nardus) contains natural antioxidants and flavonoids that have the ability to preserve the male reproductive system. This study examined the effects of different C. nardus extract dosages on mouse sperm quality. The male Balb/C mice were separated into five groups of equal size. The negative control group was injected with 0.01ml of Na-CMC 0.5% over the course of 28 days, the positive control group was injected with 0.2ml of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) on days 10, 17, and 24, and the treatment groups were injected with 0.2ml of S. aureus on days 10, 17, and 24, followed by 0.01ml of C. nardus. After the experiment, mice were slaughtered, and sperm suspension was obtained from the cauda epididymal to measure morphology, concentration, and motility. The testis was fixed in a fixative solution to analyze the spermatogenic cells, and intracardiac blood was drawn to determine the level of testosterone. Significant differences (p 0.05) were seen in the morphology, concentration, and motility of spermatozoa when C. nardus extract was administered. Given the low and middle concentrations of C. nardus extract, it can repair sperm damage caused by S. aureus infection.
