An analytical model is presented to study the behaviour of propagation of torsional surface waves in initially stressed porous layer, sandwiched between an orthotropic half-space with initial stress and pre-stressed inhomogeneous anisotropic half-space. The boundary surfaces of the layer and halfspaces are taken as corrugated, as well as loosely bonded. The heterogeneity of the lower half-space is due to trigonometric variation in elastic parameters of the pre-stressed inhomogeneous anisotropic medium. Expression for dispersion relation has been obtained in closed form for the present analytical model to observe the effect of undulation parameter, flatness parameter and porosity on the propagation of torsional surface waves. The obtained dispersion relation is found to be in well agreement with classical Love wave equation for a particular case. The cases of ideally smooth interface and welded interface have also been analysed. Study on the interactions between the coatings of electric conductor or dielectric media and piezoelectric substrate in the piezoelectric functional devices

Because that most of piezoelectric functional devices are combined with the coatings of electric conductor or dielectric media and the piezoelectric substrate, the study on the interactions between them is valuable for their advanced design. In this paper, a method for the electro-mechanical coupling fields in these piezoelectric functional devices is presented. Firstly, the two-dimensional Green’s function for a normal line force or line charge is derived. Then, based on the obtained Green’s function, the interaction mechanism between the coatings of electric conductor or dielectric media and the piezoelectric substrate is studied. Finally, the electro-mechanical coupling fields under arbitrary loads are obtained by superposition principle and Gauss integration. Numerical results show that this method has high computational precision, efficiency and stability. And it can be used to improve the reliability and working performance of the piezoelectric functional device effectively.

The propagation of shear horizontal waves in a porous piezoelectric composite structure is investigated analytically in this paper. A two-layer structure comprised of perfectly bonded piezoelectric layers is considered. The solution of mechanical displacement and electrical potential is found by solving the constitutive equation for a porous piezoelectric composite structure. Then the dispersion relation is derived for the wave propagation along the direction normal to layering and in the direction of layering. The results obtained from the investigation show the dependence of the wave number on the thickness of the alternative layer in piezoelectric material. Also the phase velocity has been significantly influenced by the variation of elastic constant and porosity. The results provide a theoretical framework for designing and development of underwater acoustic devices for sensing and nondestructive testing.
