Effect of Hyperoside on the Inhibition of Adipogenesis in 3t3-L1 Adipocytes

Abstract: Context. The inhibition of adipocyte differentiation has a significant role on the prevention of obesity and obesity-associated complications. Objective. In this study, we aimed to detect whether hyperoside is able to inhibit the conversion of pre-adiposits into mature adiposits. Design and Methods. 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes were stimulated so as to differentiate into mature adipocytes. Hyperoside in non-cytotoxic concentrations (1, 2, 5, and 10 µM) were separately applied to differentiated 3T3-L1 cells. Oil red O… Show more

“…transcription factors and fat-forming genes and reducing lipid accumulation in 3T3-L1 adipocytes (22). Epimedin A and icariin inhibited HDL oxidation and glycation, mainly by inhibiting peroxidation of lipids, accumulation of apoA-1, increase of negative charge, and formation of advanced glycosylation end products (AGEs).…”

“…Besides, in HFD-induced obese rats, rutin increases muscle mitochondrial biogenesis coupled with AMP-activated protein kinase activation and reduces body weight by increasing brown adipose tissue mitochondrial biogenesis ( Seo et al, 2015 ). Another compound, hyperoside, has a low DL, but it has a beneficial effect on the controlling body weight because it inhibits adipogenesis ( Berkoz, 2019 ). It is important to note that although the pharmacokinetic parameters of these components are relatively low, they are bioactive and therefore are considered as the candidate ingredients.…”

“…The antioxidant activity of hyperoside is also highlighted by its anti-inflammatory effects as shown by several reports [54,60,61,62]. Other promising pharmacological properties include the treatment of cancer [63,64], obesity [65], arthritis [61], and diabetes [66].…”
