“…Hormetic effects of ionizing radiation were observed in various cell types of humans, animals, plants and fungi correspondingly causing increased cellular survival, as well as acceleration of growth and development (Lehrer & Rosenzweig, 2015; Tugay, Zhdanova, Zheltonozhsky, Sadovnikov, & Dighton, 2006). For example, germination and growth of seeds from diverse plant species are stimulated through IR‐doses below 15 Gy whereas increased exposures have inhibitory effects (Nayak, Patil, Behera, & Jadeja, 2015; Thapa, 2004; Zanzibar & Sudrajat, 2016). Specifically, stimulatory IR‐effects are still controversially discussed in the radiation biology community to date.…”

“…Similar result reported by Suhartanto et al (2018) that dose of 40 Gy was able to improve seed vigor and seedling growth so that it can be applied to increase vigor of Neolamarckia cadamba seeds. As in the Magnolia champaca, irradiation using 10 Gy of the stored seeds will increase the germination capacity by 34.1% of the control (Zanzibar and Sudrajat 2016). Seeds with stronger dormancy such as Falcataria moluccana require higher doses to increase low seed viability and vigor, as reported by Yulianti et al (2016) who were able to increase seed germination from 40% to 80% with gamma ray irradiation at a dose of 60 Gy.…”

“…Seed navigation is a treatment carried out to improve the physiology and biochemistry of seeds related to synchronization, speed, and an increased ability of seeds to germinate (Sutariati et al 2014). One of the invigoration methods used is low gammaray irradiation doses (Piri et al 2011, Iglesias-Andreu et al 2012, Zanzibar et al 2015, Zanzibar and Sudrajat, 2016.…”
