“…It must be stressed that for both neat 8CB and doped 8CB samples I tr (V) curves exhibit reversible response, reflecting no memory effect, contrary to that seen in LCs with negative Δε reported by several authors [2,[27][28][29]. Also no considerable hysteresis behavior has been observed in I tr (V) curves for all samples in contrast to the ones reported by several groups [18,19,25,26,[30][31][32][33]. It is seen that the overall shape of I tr (V) curves for doped and undoped 8CB samples remains the same.…”

“…In these studies, dielectric and electro-optical properties of several LC compounds doped with functionalized CNTs were investigated. In octadecylamine functionalized CNT-E7 mixtures, the improvement in the nematic ordering, showing enhancement in Δε, and the reduction in the threshold voltage as compared to pure E7 have been reported by Manjuledavi et al [32]. Ganguly et al [37] observed that the incorporation of functionalized CNTs into a FLC modifies dielectric properties substantially, and results in enhanced photoluminescence intensity and spontaneous polarization as well.…”

“…[22] To ensure uniform dispersion of CNTs in LC medium and to improve their electro-optical properties and applicability, surface functionalisation of carbon nanotubes was suggested. [23][24][25][26] In the present study, we made an attempt to study the effects of octadecylamine (ODA)-functionalised SWCNT doping on the electro-optic switching and morphological behaviour of chiral nematic LCs. These investigations are expected to open up new avenues in the field of optical memory research in soft materials.…”
