Effect of exposure to different light colors on embryonic development and neurophysiological traits in the chick embryo

Abstract: Background and Aim: Many environmental factors exist that influence embryonic development which is missing in the poultry industry, such as light in incubation facilities or hatcheries. Light plays an important role in the growth and development of chick embryos, whereas dark environments can lead to hatching failure or embryo distortion. Therefore, this study aimed to demonstrate the importance of light and its various colors on the growth and development of broiler chick embryos. Materials and Methods: Four… Show more

“…The Chick's embryo begins to switch its nutrition from albumen to yolk within 14 days of incubation; therefore, the indicator of measuring the yolk weight is significant. If the yolk weight decreases, this indicates the consumption of a more significant amount of it 29 , and it means that there is an increase in the feeding process for the embryo, which works to increase the weight 10 , as we indicated previously, and this is what was done in the injected experimental treatments. So from Figure 1, we notice a significant decrease in yolk weight for all treatments except T1.…”

“…As for the level of total protein, T3 recorded a significant superiority under probability (P≤0.05) overall treatments. The reason for the high level of total protein in the fourth treatment may be attributed to inflammatory diseases, immune disorders (Bagno et al, 2021), or hepatitis, whereas, the increase in total protein in the plasma could be the result of an increase in the concentration of immunoglobulins in the plasma (Abdulateef et al, 2021), which occurs as a result of the pathological infection, where the analysis of total protein in the blood compares the amount of albumin to globulin, globulin constitutes 40% of the proteins in the blood, while albumin constitutes 60% of the total proteins (Onyenweaku et al, 2022).…”

“…While our study does not agree with (14) in Awassi sheep, the values were the most obtained in our study, and the reason was due to the education system and mothers' nutrition. (15) explained that the type of birth has an effect on body measurements or dimensions 16,17 .…”
