The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of hydroalcoholic jabuticaba bark on the diets of female blue Betta splendens in relation to the level of digestive enzymes, liver metabolism, and antioxidant activity. The sample constituted 150 individuals subdivided into five groups in triplicate, totaling 10 fish per 20 L experimental unit. Commercial diets (40.88% CP and 4374.8 Kcal kg-1) were added to jabuticaba bark (EJB) hydroalcoholic extract concentrations of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 g .kg-1. The rations were provided twice a day, until apparent satiety, for 21 days. Fish mortality was not observed during the trial. Growth indices did not show any significant differences, apart from feed conversion. The use of the extract promoted an increase in the luminosity of the fish; however, there was no statistical difference in chromaticity a * and b *. A decrease in the activity of Superoxide dismutase (SOD) on the skin of fish fed diets of 1.5 and 2.0g.kg-1 EJB was observed in comparison to the other diets. There was no change in CAT activity. It is concluded that the use of 2 g kg-1 EJB has an antioxidant effect that reflects the greater luminosity of blue female Betta splendens.

A 14‐day study was carried out to investigate the nursery of the nauplius (N5) Penaeus vannamei in biofloc technology (BFT) system. The whole experiment was divided into three groups: the control group (GC) without bioflocs, T300 and T600 with bioflocs in which total suspended solid (TSS) levels were maintained at 300 and 600 mg/L, respectively. The results revealed that the average total ammonia nitrogen (TAN) levels in GC were significantly higher than those in T300 and T600 (p < 0.05). By contrast, the nitrite of T300 was significantly higher than the other groups (p < 0.05). Nitrate and total nitrogen (TN) were increased with the increasing TSS, whereas alkalinity and pH decreased. The higher dry weight was detected in T300, and the survival rate under salinity stress was also significantly higher than the T600 (p < 0.05). Besides, there was no significant difference in the total Vibrio bacteria (TVB) and body length of the shrimp among all groups (p > 0.05). In conclusion, BFT with the TSS level <300 mg/L can achieve better performance in P. vannamei of nauplius nursery.

Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is the dominant shrimp species in the world. The total production volume of the white shrimp exceeded tiger shrimp, contributing about 63% of global farmed shrimp production, about 4.97 million tons (FAO, 2020).The optimal dietary protein requirement of white shrimp has been reported as being from 30 to 44%, depending on the shrimp size, protein quality and energy content (NRC, 2011). Besides that, the highest weight gain of white shrimp was generally achieved at dietary lipid levels of 5%-9% (NRC, 2011) and dietary carbohydrate levels of 19%-25% (Wang et al., 2015).Dietary lipids play essential roles as sources of energy and essential fatty acids for fish growth and development (Glencross, 2009).
