Effect of Covid-19 in Management of Lung Cancer Disease: A Review

Abstract: COVID-19 outcomes may be more severe in lung cancer patients. As a COVID-19 pandemic spreads, it's critical to identify which people and malignancies are most susceptible. COVID-19 appears to have the worst results in lung cancer patients. Lung damage or reduced lung capacity can be caused by the disease itself or by cancer treatments such as radiation and surgery. The earlier lung cancer is diagnosed, the better the prognosis. As a result, early detection technology for cancer is in high demand. Early diagnos… Show more

“…Sesquiterpene lactones called germacranolides, eudesmanolides, and guaianolides characterize the genus Anthemis in its phytochemical profile [57]. In particular, two known sesquiterpene lactones, antheindurolides A and B, together with five new related lactones (5-Hydroxy-5,6-dihydro-6,13-dehydro-antheindurolide A; 5-Acetoxy-5,6-dihydro-6,13-dehydro-antheindurolide A; 6-Hydroxy-5,6-dihydro-4,5-dehydro-antheindurolide A; Antheindurolide A-5,6-oxide; and 6-hydroperoxy-5,6dihydro-4,5-dehydro-antheindurolide A) with the same unusual skeleton, have been isolated from the aerial parts of Anthemis arvensis [58].…”

“…There is a possibility that treatment with medications like PARP inhibitors, which target specific biomarkers, could have a domino effect on gene expression all over the world. In light of the fact that PARP1 is capable of regulating chromatin confirmation and epigenetic regulation [57], PARPi may have off-target effects that are not entirely understood at this time. Patients who have germline mutations of the BRCA gene may have a favourable response to PARPi [58], but there is evidence to suggest that these individuals also have an increased risk of developing myelodysplastic syndrome and acute myeloid leukaemia [59].…”
