Abstract:This study investigated the effect of centrifugation on tryptic digestion. This was done by applying different centrifugation speeds (6,000, 8,000, 10,000, 20,000, and 30,000×g) over various durations (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 min) to digest two model proteins -cytochrome c and myoglobin. The intact proteins and resulting peptides were identified using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Centrifugation greatly improved the tryptic digestion efficiency of cytoch… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
