Effect of carbon coating on the electrochemical properties of Bi2WO6 nanoparticles by PVP-assisted sonochemical method

Abstract: Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)-assisted Bi 2 WO 6 nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by sonochemical method. Three different concentrations of PVP (0.05, 0.1, and 0.2 g) were used, and their effects over the structural, morphological, compositional, and electrochemical analysis were studied. The structural investigation revealed the formation of 100 % pure Bi 2 WO 6 phase. The presence of carbon in the PVP-assisted materials was evidenced from differential scanning calorimetry, Fourier transform infra red… Show more

“…XPS was used to analyze elements in laminar Bi 2 WO 6 , which is shown in Figure A. The peaks of Bi 4f, W 4f, and O 1s were detected at 159.4, 35.3, and 530.0 eV, respectively, which were consistent with the reported data and proved the existence of T Bi, W, and O elements. In addition, Figure A(a–c) shows the high-resolution Bi 4f, W 4f, and O 1s XPS spectra of laminar Bi 2 WO 6 . As shown in Figure B, the Raman analysis of laminar Bi 2 WO 6 modified on a silicon substrate was performed.…”

“…Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) (Figure 1d) and Raman spectrum (Figure 1e) analysis of the as-obtained samples further confirmed the successful preparation of Bi 2 WO 6 . 47,48 The chemical compositions of the as-prepared Bi 2 WO 6 nanoplates were analyzed using XPS (Figure 1f). Figure 1g,h presents the high-resolution Bi 4f and W 4f XPS spectra of the Bi 2 WO 6 nanoplates.…”

“…The development of a supercapacitor with a high-capacity energy storage system bridges the gap between batteries and conventional capacitors in terms of energy and power density for high-power applications. 2,3 Pseudocapacitors have a higher capacitance because of the reversible surface faradaic redox reactions for charge storage, while electrical double-layer capacitors (EDLC) utilize the electrical charge at the electrode and electrolyte interface.…”
