O extrativismo na Amazônia pode ser dividido em dois tipos: o madeireiro e o não madeireiro, que é denominado de extrativismo de Produto Florestal não Madeireiro (PFNM), o qual é uma alternativa de preservação e conservação dos recursos ambientais com empoderamento das populações extrativistas. O objetivo desse artigo é analisar as estratégias econômicas utilizadas pelos ribeirinhos da Área de Proteção Ambiental Ilha do Combu, onde se avaliou o que mudou em relação ao extrativismo de PFNM ao longo de 30 anos. Para que pudessem ser comparados os valores reais entre os de Anderson e Ioris (1992) e os atuais coletados nessa pesquisa, calculou-se a quantidade de cestas básicas que cada família conseguia comprar com seu salário arrecado nos períodos da safra e entressafra do açaí e com o extrativismo do cacau. As principais atividades destacadas na década de 1990 foram a coleta de frutos de açaí com extração do palmito, coleta da fruta e semente de cacau, pesca de peixe e camarão, criação de porcos e extração da borracha. Novas atividades foram registradas no ano de 2021, tais como transporte de passageiros para atendimento do turismo e o intenso crescimento da atividade de restaurantes (proprietários e mão de obra), em decorrência do aumento no fluxo de pessoas. Ainda hoje, a alta renda se dá principalmente pela especialização em uma única atividade lucrativa, no caso o extrativismo do fruto do açaí. Já na estação chuvosa, ocorre uma maior diversificação da produção, ou seja, os ribeirinhos utilizam de outras atividades econômicas (principalmente o extrativismo do cacau) que possibilitem o seu sustento no período da entressafra do açaí.Palavras-chave: Extrativismo. The objective of this work was to deter mine the base temperatures, thermal time requirements, and length of the main reproductive growth stages of acai palm (Euterpe oleracea) in the northeast of the state of Pará, in eastern Amazon, Brazil. The experiment was carried out from 2017 to 2019 in a 10 ha acai plantation, using the time-series analysis. Plant phenology was monitored weekly, and local weather conditions were monitored daily. The lower and upper base temperatures were of 12.92 and 32.46°C, respectively, for pre-flowering; 13.50 and 32.23°C for flowering; 12.14 and 32.55°C for green fruit stage; 11.64 and 32.78°C for fruit color-changing stage; and 11.23 and 32.94°C for maturation. The thermal time requirement and the average cycle length for the ideal harvest time of acai palm were 3,893.15 degree-days and 283 days, respectively. The thermal time requirement and the duration of the reproductive growth stage for acai palm are influenced by the period of the year and the variability of air temperature, which, when high, reduces the cycle of the crop, and when mild, increases it.

The intensification of the production of açaí (Euterpe oleracea Mart.) and the increase in consumption resulted in the generation of significant amounts of waste that require an adequate final destination. The objective of the research was to evaluate how occurs the discarding and final disposal of açaí lumps processed in Macapá and Santana counties-AP. Thus, semi-structured forms were applied to 212 artisanal açaí beaters (151 in Macapá and 61 in Santana). Information on the disposal and destination of seeds from the açaí mixers were spatialized using the ArcGis software. The results showed that the form of discarding of processed açaí lumps and their final destination are not determined by the size of the açaí-processing shops. However, final disposal was influenced by the higher estimated profit (p<0.05). Most of the disposal and destination are inadequate (53%) and still depend on specific management and legislation that result in environmentally sustainable alternatives.
