Summary Vitality reliant and mobility are the two factors that deplete some measure of energy during the radio communication often occur in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) among and between the nodes. Since MANET is a decentralized system, it poses to the exploitation of energy during the reliable path selection during routing. Hence, selection of protocol plays a major aspect in MANET for combatting against the energy depletion of nodes, Instable link, mobility character, and load balancing. The RPS‐LEACH protocol is proposed in this paper for the efficient path selection by organizing the nodes into clusters. For each cluster, Cluster Head (CH) is elected based on its strong transmission power and battery life. The Cluster Members (CM) is organized, respectively, based on its ability to respond to its cluster head REQs. Mainly, RPS values are calculated by the two parameters such as (i) successful interactions and (ii) unsuccessful interactions. In the proposed system, RPS (Reliable Path Selection) values are exchanged among the nodes for the reliable path selection by choosing the highest RPS value node for its communication. Hence, by adopting the RPS scheme, the nodes are able to choose the most reliable path for the efficient data transfer by exchanging the RPS values by ignoring the paths that consuming long time to transfer the data. In this procedure, correspondence convention, which comprises imperative impact of vitality liberality of such networks, is addressed. In cases of applications with no predefined or intended infrastructure, this scheme paves way for the versatile hubs to perform as the energy efficient routing nodes. Simulation carried out in NS2 and results shown improved performance when compared with LDTS and RPS‐LEACH.

Abstract-Energy conservation of the sensor nodes is an important issue considered in the design of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). So to extend the network lifetime several clustering approaches are used. Most of this clustering approaches facing hot spot problem. It is one of the key issues caused by the fact that the sensor nodes closer to the base station drain their energy quickly than other nodes as data of the entire network is forwarded to BS through them. In this paper, we are proposing an uneven multi-level grid clustering routing method to overcome the hot spot problem and to extend the network life time. Here this protocol divides the network into variable number of uneven grids based on the average energy level. At each period of time interval BS checks the average energy and sets the level of gridding. This method tries to set suitable number of grids based on current energy of network. It also guarantees suitable number of intermediary nodes to transmit the data to final destination; thereby reducing energy loss due to direct communication. The proposed protocol provides better solution to sudden energy hole creation and thereby improve network longevity.

Abstract:A wireless sensor network (WSN) is a modern technology in radio communication. A WSN comprises a number of sensors that are randomly spread in a specific area for sensing and monitoring physical attributes that are difficult to monitor by humans, such as temperature, humidity, and pressure. Many problems, including data routing, power consumption, clustering, and selecting cluster heads (CHs), may occur due to the nature of WSNs. Various protocols have been conducted to resolve these issues. One of the important hierarchical protocols that are used to reduce power consumption in WSNs is low-energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH). This paper presents a comprehensive study of clustering protocols for WSNs that are relevant to LEACH. This paper is the first to emphasis on cluster formation and CHs selection methods and their strengths and weaknesses. A new taxonomy is presented to discuss LEACH variants on the basis of different classes, and the current survey is compared with other existing surveys. A complete comparison of the location, energy, complexity, reliability, multi-hop path, and load balancing characteristics of LEACH variants is conducted. Future research guidelines for CHs selection and cluster formation in WSNs are also discussed.
